BOOKINGS FOR MARCH EXECUTIVE BREAKFASTS NOW OPEN!

ARCA is delighted to announce that the fourth in our series of Executive Breakfasts will be held in Sydney on Tuesday 15 March, and in Melbourne on Thursday 17 March 2016.
These Executive Breakfasts, the first for 2016, are kindly sponsored by Veda, and on behalf of Members, we thank Veda for this support.
Our topic is Alternative Data and its Role in Credit Risk – Revolution or Evolution?
The potential benefits from integrating alternative data into credit risk management are purported to include:
- Reaching new customers
- Differentiating customer experiences
- Stronger underwriting
- Fraud prevention
- Competitive edge
Surprisingly these are all benefits that have been ascribed to the introduction of Comprehensive Credit Reporting (CCR) in Australia. So why is alternative data suddenly on the agenda at a time when the Government has enabled a CCR regime? What are the issues, what steps can you take to better use existing data, and how can alternative data assist in credit decisions?
If you are considering the introduction of alternative data into your credit risk management, then you need to hear from the experts at the next ARCA Executive Breakfast who will address:
- CCR – Martin O’Connor, Senior Vice President - Data & Analytics, Equifax will address how new bureau data can enhance credit risk management
-
Alternative Data – Paul Lichtenstein, Partner, Risk Consulting at KPMG and Will Chan, Director, Risk Consulting at KPMG, in Sydney and Melbourne respectively, will then follow with the value that unstructured data can add to credit risk management, addressing:
- How are credit risk models changing?
- What can retail credit learn from other industries?
- Should the banks be concerned?
- Are scientists replacing analysts?
- Panel discussion: Mike Cutter, Veda’s Executive GM, Credit Risk & Advisory Services, will then facilitate a panel discussion on alternative data, including the speakers
