Who Can Join ARCA?

ARCA welcomes applications for ARCA membership from credit providers and credit reporting bodies from financial services and non-financial services organisations.  Such organisations may include banks, mutuals, finance companies, utilities, telcos, debt collections firms etc.

Other interested organisations, such as law firms or consulting firms, who have an interest in specialist areas such as consumer lending, credit data and related regulatory considerations are welcome to apply for ARCA Associate membership.

Applications to join ARCA as a Member or Associate Member are subject to ARCA Board approval.

  • Contribute to and utilise the CreditSmart consumer education programs, focused on empowering consumers to:
    • understand the benefits of a balanced and effective credit reporting environment,
    • interpret their credit reports,
    • understand how to optimise management of their finances to improve and maintain a strong  credit profile,

      thereby minimising any  concerns and improving their bill payment behaviour.

How to join ARCA

Financial services and non-financial services credit providers and credit reporting bodies can apply to join ARCA as full Members, with voting rights, the opportunity to stand for Board positions, and the ability to fully participate in working groups and policy development.

 

Other interested individuals and organisations, e.g. law firms or consulting firms, can apply for Associate Membership of ARCA, at either the individual or corporate level.  Associate membership provides the opportunity to be kept up to date on industry developments, have access to ARCA networking and educational events at reduced Member prices, and have free access to the Australian Credit Reporting Data Standards (ACRDS) and any ACRDS updates.

becoming a SIGNATORY TO the pRINCIPLES OF RECIPROCITY & DATA EXCHANGE (PRDE) 

In addition to joining ARCA as a Member, credit providers can become a signatory to the Principles of Reciprocity & Data Exchange (PRDE) which is a set of industry developed principles for sharing and accessing consumer credit information. 

 

All financial services credit providers are encouraged to become signatories to the PRDE as they prepare for participation in comprehensive credit reporting (CCR). PRDE signatories include both ARCA members and non-members.
